Who writes it

Byron Chocoj has guided on Acatenango and Fuego out of Antigua since 2016, through the seasons when the camps moved and the routes changed. He walks the trail most weeks and knows which sections turn to mud in September and which operators actually carry a first-aid kit.

How the tours get here

Every hike listed is bookable today through GetYourGuide, with a certified operator and published safety terms. Prices, ratings, review counts and durations come from the operator's own listing on the day we check it, and the check date is printed on the page.

What we add is the part nobody publishes in one place: the park fee collected in cash on the trail, the cost of the Fuego ridge add-on, the porter rate above 12 kg, and the gap between a group of 8 and a group of 60 walking the same path.
